Advantages of air suspension
1. The first thing to bear is the improvement of ride quality. Vehicles equipped with air suspensions seem to slide past bumpy roads, while the traditional steel spring structure suspension has a much worse shock filtering effect, which directly affects the ride comfort. Of course, the air suspension is adjustable in soft and hard, which means that you can choose to pass through bumpy roads as if you want to sit on an air cushion, or you can experience the joy of driving with a clear sense of the road like sitting on a sports car.
2. Another advantage of air suspension is that it can help SUVs or pickups to improve their drag ability. On SUVs or pickups equipped with air suspension, the driver can drag heavier cargo by increasing the stiffness of the suspension
Disadvantages of air suspension
1. The cost of purchase or optional installation is very high. On most models, even in luxury cars, air suspension is an optional configuration. Only certain ultra-luxury cars or SUVs will use air suspension as standard equipment, such as Mercedes-Benz S-Class or Land Rover Range Rover. In general models, the air suspension is an expensive option. For example, Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 can be equipped with air suspension, but the price is between 70,000 and 100,000. This configuration is completely cost-effective.
2. The maintenance cost is extremely high. Many friends who are considering buying second-hand luxury cars should pay attention to the fact that the maintenance cost of the air suspension is quite high. Of course, when the air suspension is in good condition, it works perfectly. Once it breaks down, it will cost a lot of money to repair or even replace it. If the air suspension suddenly breaks during driving, the vehicle may tilt to one side, which is a big safety hazard. Many car owners directly remove the air suspension and replace it with many traditional steel springs after the air suspension is broken. This saves money and saves future troubles.
